Japan Trip 2015 – Day 2 – Tokyo Motor Show

Day 2 of my trip to Japan was all about cars, bikes, and automobiles, and a little bit of Gundam Front.

Prior to departing for the trip, I have learned that it coincides with the 44th Tokyo Motor Show (learn more here). So without much hesitation I quickly bought two tickets online, one for meself and one for me wife. And it so happened it was on the last day of the event on the 9th of November 2015.

The motor show was held in Tokyo Big Sight. It is located in Odaiba and is a popular venue that holds all sorts of events throughout the year such as AnimeJapan, Halal Market Fair 2016, Tokyo Shoes EXPO, and MAGIC The Gathering GRAND PRIX TOKYO 2016, just to name a few.

As for the Tokyo Motor Show, it was such a huge event with loads of cars and bikes and not forgetting the beautiful and kawaii girls 🙂 Most of the cars and bikes at the show were Japanese of course with Toyota and Honda taking up most of the real estates. Here are some that deserved special mention.

Honda Clarity. Honda’s every own fuel cell car.

The all new Honda NSX.

Hasegawa – Last Exile Fam the Silver Wing Vanship

Hasegawa will be releasing this awesome kit under it’s Creator Works series in December 2012. The kit consists of two 1/72 scale vehicles featured in the anime Last Exile – Fam the Silver Wing.

Have not watch this anime yet but have watched the first installment which is simple called Last Exile. Last Exile is one of the better anime I have seen and I absolutely love the environment and vehicle designs. And the storyline is quite intrigued as well. If you are an ardent anime fan and have not watched this, you should go out right now and get yourself a copy.

Alright, back to the kit. This kit just looks amazing. It consists of the big vanship (this is what the call the flying vehicles in the anime) and a smaller one called a vespa which belongs to Fam, the main protagonist of the anime. I just love the retro and classic feel of these vanship designs.

I would love to build one of these someday but am worry that I may not have the skill to build them the way the deserved.

Now feast your eyes on these awesome pics.

Hasegawa 1/1500 Space Pirate Battleship Arcadia

arcadia_logo

Space Pirate Battleship Arcadia is featured in the Galaxy Express 999 anime movie version. Hasegawa has in November 2012 released under its Creator Works series, a 1/1500 scale version of this awesome looking bad add spaceship.

It is 336.5mm long and 164mm wide. One stand out parts is the wood cabin looking portion at the back of the ship or shall I say the stern, which gives it the distinct pirate ship look. The other is the huge beak knife at the front and it also comes with turning turrets.

Academy 1/48 AH-64A Apache

Academy Hobby has release this 1/48 Scale AH-64A [GRAY CAMO 2003] in October 2012.

The AH-64A Apache, also known as the flying tanks, first reached the AUS Army in 1984 to replace the AH-1F Cobra attack helicopter.

It was equipped with:
– A nose-mounted Lockheed Martin AAQ-11 Target Acquisition and Designation Sight and Pilot night vision.
– A specially developed M230 30-mm chain gun.
– Four stub-wing hardpoints for Hellfire air-to-ground and unguided rocket pods.

It has seen combat in location such as Panama in 1989 and Operation Desert Storm in 1991. It however did not fared very well in the Global Was or Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan where a few had been destroyed by small arms fire and shoulder launched missiles.

The sky gray camouflage was used by the South Carolina Army National Guard (SCARNG) to improve the combat effectiveness of the Apache in operations in and over Iraq.

Gunpla Builder World Cup 2011 Gallery

Took these pictures a long long long time ago. Never manage to get round to post them. Mainly due to busy work schedule, grocery shopping, movies, bla blab bla… but seriously, mainly due to my lack of motivation a.k.a. lazy.

Was contemplating whether to post them…. Anyway, since I already have them I figure what the heck, might as well post them. So here they are, the pictures taken during last year Gunpla Builder World Cup – Malaysia leg… yeah.. almost a year ago. How time flies. This was a competition co-sponsor by Bandai. All models are Gundam kits, needless to say.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy posting them. Cheers.

By the way, I have no idea who won the competition. Perhaps some of you who knows can share with us.
