Japan Trip 2015 – Day 3 – Tsukiji-Tokyo Tower-Akihabara

On day 3 we went to a few places. First was Tsukiji Fish Market. This is the second time we been to Tsukiji. This time we went there slightly earlier than the previous time and managed to catch some actions in the wholesales areas (means there are still shops open for business). Although it is called Tsukiji Fish Market, it sells other produces beside seafood. There are sections dedicated for vegetables, fruits, flowers, and others. Unfortunately we only visited the seafood section.
For those of you who do not know, Tsukiji Fish Market will be relocated to a new area come November 2016. It is supposed to be a larger and better but one thing for sure, it will be different. If you want to experience the current market, better make a trip there before the relocation.

Some photos from Tsukiji Fish Market. Click on photo to view next.

Japan Trip 2015 – Day 2 – Tokyo Motor Show

Day 2 of my trip to Japan was all about cars, bikes, and automobiles, and a little bit of Gundam Front.

Prior to departing for the trip, I have learned that it coincides with the 44th Tokyo Motor Show (learn more here). So without much hesitation I quickly bought two tickets online, one for meself and one for me wife. And it so happened it was on the last day of the event on the 9th of November 2015.

The motor show was held in Tokyo Big Sight. It is located in Odaiba and is a popular venue that holds all sorts of events throughout the year such as AnimeJapan, Halal Market Fair 2016, Tokyo Shoes EXPO, and MAGIC The Gathering GRAND PRIX TOKYO 2016, just to name a few.

As for the Tokyo Motor Show, it was such a huge event with loads of cars and bikes and not forgetting the beautiful and kawaii girls 🙂 Most of the cars and bikes at the show were Japanese of course with Toyota and Honda taking up most of the real estates. Here are some that deserved special mention.

Honda Clarity. Honda’s every own fuel cell car.

The all new Honda NSX.

Hasegawa 1/48 F16C

This is my second attempt at building a plan and the victim this time around is a Hasegawa 1/48 scale F16C Fighting Falcon ‘Alabama Ang Special’. I bought this kit from a huge model shop call Universal Models Limited (UML) in Hong Kong during one of my business trip there back in June 2008.

This took me couple of months to build due to my hectic workload but was able to finish it sometime in October 2008. Instead of having it in the normal landing pose, I wanted to build this in a more action oriented pose aka flying pose. As such, I did not bother about the landing gears and covered all the landing hatches.

I also drilled a small hole under the main fuselage so that I can poke a small iron rod into it and pose the F16 in flying mode. But also due to this, there is no more space to attach the spare fuel tank under the fuselage. As such, that spare tank was omitted.

Here are the pictures of the Hasegawa 1/48 F16C Fighting Falcon. All pictures were taken with my Canon EOS 400D with Sigma 18-200mm OS lens.

SMM07 Part 1

SMM07 stands for Scale Model Malaysia 2007. SMM07 is an annual scale model competition organized by the Selangor and Federal Territory Plastic Modelling Society (SFTPMS).

The competition was held on 15 and 16 December 2007 at Cineleisure Damansara.

There were so many entries in this competition I had to split the picture of the entries into two posts.

There are 64 pictures in this post. All pictures where taken with Canon 400D with Sigma 18-200 DC OS lens.
