Hasegawa 1/48 F16C

This is my second attempt at building a plan and the victim this time around is a Hasegawa 1/48 scale F16C Fighting Falcon ‘Alabama Ang Special’. I bought this kit from a huge model shop call Universal Models Limited (UML) in Hong Kong during one of my business trip there back in June 2008.

This took me couple of months to build due to my hectic workload but was able to finish it sometime in October 2008. Instead of having it in the normal landing pose, I wanted to build this in a more action oriented pose aka flying pose. As such, I did not bother about the landing gears and covered all the landing hatches.

I also drilled a small hole under the main fuselage so that I can poke a small iron rod into it and pose the F16 in flying mode. But also due to this, there is no more space to attach the spare fuel tank under the fuselage. As such, that spare tank was omitted.

Here are the pictures of the Hasegawa 1/48 F16C Fighting Falcon. All pictures were taken with my Canon EOS 400D with Sigma 18-200mm OS lens.

Online Gundam Purchase

Been longing for the MG Wing Gundam ver Ka for quite a while now. This is one of those Gundam that really stands out and caught my eyes.

Instead of the usual way where I have to drive myself through mad traffics to the lhs in town to get this, I thought I try online purchase this time around.

I bought this kit at this site. http://www.vrmodeler.com/. The site does not look impressive and so far it only ships locally. Locally here means within Malaysia. All this does not matter to me as long as they have the kit I want and ships to me.

Placed my order online and received an email confirming the order and payment instructions.  Thanks to technology I made the payment online almost immediately.  Can’t wait to get my hands on the Wing. Received another email confirming payment made and Wing will be shipped using Pos Laju.

Two days later the Wing arrived at my office in a big package. These are photos of the unpacking.

Unpacking.

The package as it arrived via post Laju.

Opened the wrapping paper.

Sufficient packing to protect the box.

Behold the MG Wing Gundam ver Ka.

Wrapped in bubble wrap for additional protection.

The box is in superb condition.

All parts are accounted for.

If you are staying in Malaysia and is crazy about Gundam stuffs and the closest shops that sell them are hundred of kilometer away, maybe you can give this site a try.

Enjoy your Gundaming.

Gundam Model Kit Mid Year Challenge 2008

The Gundam Model Kit Mid year Challenge 2008 is another Gunpla competition organized in collaboration between Bandai and Litt Tak Sdn Bhd. The competition ended on 15 May 2008 and the participating entries were on display in Sungai Wang Plaza from 23 May 2008 to 29 May 2008.

As usual, yours truly was on site to photograph the entries and I must say although the number of entry is not overwhelming, the qualities of a few standout entries were just amazing.

I am hoping that the usual year end BAKUC competition this year will see more entries and with better qualities. For the time being, lets feats our eyes on these amazing entries.

There are 44 photos in this post. All photos were taken with my Canon EOS 400D with Sigma 18-200 OS lens.
